Emma M. Pahl, 99, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, September 04, 2012 at a local care facility. Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Reverend Kenny Hsu officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Emma was born the daughter of William and Mary (Oltmanns) Heeren on December 27, 1912 in LeMars, Iowa. She received her education in LeMars before moving to Sioux City where she finished high school. Emma married Albert Pahl on July 18, 1953 in Sioux City. Albert passed away in 1974. Emma worked for Armour packing house for many years and also for Wincharger where she retired in 1963. She enjoyed bird watching and visiting family. She also enjoyed bowling in the Sunshine bowling league of the Eagle's Club for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Emma is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Sonny) Cooper of Dakota City, Nebraska; sister, Helen Kellison of Sioux City; nephew, Frank Heeren of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Gladys Heeren of Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Lindsy and Travis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 13 brothers and sisters.
