Daniel "Danny" Norby, 22, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Morningside Lutheran Church with Rev. Darrin Vick and Rev. Tom LoVan officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Morningside Lutheran Church. He graduated from North High School where he was a member of Project Lead The Way with an engineering intership. He attended Iowa State University where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He came back to Sioux City to help raise his daughter and graduated from WITT with a degree in architectural drafting. He worked at Knoepfler Chevrolet for several years as the custodian. He most recently worked at Saber Industries as a Drafter. Danny had a passion for sports and was a great artist. He participated in tennis, football, and basketball at North High. He loved golf, water skiing, and spending time with friends and his daughter. He was very committed to and was a wonderful father to his daughter Marissa and shared custody with his former girlfriend Nicole Rose. He is survived by his daughter Marissa Norby of Sioux City; parents David and Robbie Norby of Sioux City; brother Christopher Norby of Sioux City; maternal grandmother Marie Woodson of Sioux City; maternal grandfather Robert Woodson; and his paternal grandparents Marvin and Mary Norby of Sioux City; his girlfriend Rebecca Hansen of Sioux City; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal great grandparents.
