Mary Little, 91, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at her residence following a brief illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 4 p.m., the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Mary was born October 3, 1920 in Sioux City, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Osinka) Shpakowsky. She was married to Don Little on November 30, 1940 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1964. Mary worked at Sioux City Dressed Pork for 22 years retiring in 1978. Mary loved her family, friends, and had a great enthusiasm for life. She adored her children and grandchildren and cherished time with them. Mary enjoyed bingo, playing cards, family get togethers, and quiet time with her loved ones. Mostly Mary loved life and never took it for granted. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, strong faith and generous heart. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Church until it closed when she became and has been a member of Immaculate Conception since. Mary is survived by her 5 children, Don (Cynthia) Little; Pat Borrink; Julie Bernhardt (Bob Perera); Kathy (Wayne) Momsen; and Rich Little; a sister Stella LePay, a sister-in-law Olga Shpakowsky; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, two brothers: John and Adam Shpakowsky, a sister Bernice Tomichek, and a grandson David Sorrink. Pallbearers will be Jeff Borrink, Bill LePay, Bob Perera, Steve Sabasta, Tim Sabasta, and Mike Sabasta.
