SIOUX CITY | Helen M. Kollman, 93 of Sioux City, IA died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family present 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com . Helen was born December 5, 1918 in Annawan, Illinois to Leo and Stephanie (DeToy) DeClerk. They moved to Jasper, MN where she was raised on the family farm and graduated from high school in Jasper. On March 8, 1941 she married Raymond W. Kollman. Together they co-founded Kollman Appliance. Ray died Feb. 2, 2003 in Naples, FL. Helen and Ray wintered in Florida for more than 20 years. She was an avid golfer and bowler and belonged to the Sun Valley golf league. She enjoyed playing Scrabble. Helen was a longtime active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the church women's league. Survivors include 5 children, Leo Kollman of Omaha, NE, Carol Amick of Excelsior Springs, MO, John Kollman and his wife, Julie of Sioux City, Gerry Kollman of Duval, WA and Joan Carney of Sioux City; a sister, Barbara Connell of Luverne, MN; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers and a sister. Pallbearers will be Josh Kollman, Matt Amick, Mark Amick, John Kollman, Pat Carney, Raj Bhandari, Chad Bauerly, Carl Gennusa, Todd O'Brien, Joe Frost and Chuck Flicker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Women's League in Helen's name.
