Lawrence D. Scofield, Jr.

Lawrence D. Scofield, Jr., 69, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his residence. Abiding by his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 10, 2012 at Glendale Baptist Church. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Doug was born the son of Lawrence D. and Evelyn (Tubbs) Scofield, Sr. on July 9, 1943 in Sioux City. He married Kay Scofield on December 15, 1962 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He worked for IBP, Jolly Time popcorn, Sioux City garbage, and Siouxland Recovery over the years. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping, drawing, building bird houses, and tinkering. Doug is survived by one son, Mickey Scofield of Sioux City; three daughters; Roxann Scofield of Hinton, Rhonda (Mark) Williams of LeMars, and Robin (Kelly) Swick of Washta; one brother, Chester (Nancy) Scofield of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay; one brother, Herbert; one sister, Evelyn; one son, Leo; and two great-grandchildren, Dedrick and Caden.
