Doyle Lee Hall, 70, of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital following a two-year battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home. Doyle L. Hall was born on Nov. 18, 1932, in Rock County, Neb., the son of John and Helen (Schulz) Hall. He attended school in Bassett, Neb. Doyle married Mable Jean Ravenstorff on Jan. 6, 1950, in Butte, Neb. He lived most of his adult life in South Sioux City. He was employed with Cargill for 42 years. In his free time, he loved to golf, bowl and enjoyed watching baseball on TV. He was a member of the Hawkeye League at Hidden Acres Golf Course, where he was a member since 1977. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Mable; sons, Rick, Dennis, Jim and Gary; daughters, Maxine Barber and her husband, Robert, Cindy Benson, Deb Utech and her husband, Doug, and Crystal Keller and her husband, Phil; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marvin; a brother, Gary; and a sister, Belva.
