Wilfred "Bill" Hinrichsen, 82, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services for Bill will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Church of the Nativity at 10:00 a.m. with Father Steven Mc Loud officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the US Navy Reserves in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m. and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus Chalice Service to follow at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Bill was born on February 12, 1930 in Osmond, NE to Carl and Severa (Waterman) Hinrichsen. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Margaret Thompson on September 12, 1951 at St. Ludgers Church in Creighton, NE. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Bill worked as an Electrical Salesman for Crescent Electric for 40 plus years. He was a member of Church of the Nativity where he was involved with the church in many forms. He was an Extraordinary Minister, bingo volunteer (known by many as "Bingo Bill"), and he was a 3rd and 4th degree knight for the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past District Deputy and Grand Knight. Bill was also a very proud blood donor of more than 15 gallons. Bill is survived by his wife Margaret Hinrichsen of 60 years of Sergeant Bluff; 6 children, Chuck (Jackie) Hinrichsen of Hinton; Mary Pride of Spearfish, SD; Beth (Scott) Hedrick of Highland Ranch, CO; Tim Hinrichsen of Sioux City; Patrick (Renae) Hinrichsen of Sioux City; and Carrie (Jerry) Nealon of Lakewood, CO; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a brother Gene Hinrichsen of Bradenton, Fl. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Kenneth and C.J.
