SIOUX CITY | Samuel Garcia-Ortiz, Jr., 28 of Sioux City, IA died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Sioux City. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Anthony Espinosa officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Visitation with the family present will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Samuel was born April 5, 1984 in Jerecuaro, Gto Mexico to Samuel and Alicia Garcia-Ortiz. Sam moved from California to Sioux City in 1995 and graduated from West High School. He worked for Toys-R-Us, Long John's Silver, Klinger Construction and mostly recently for Tyson. Sam loved fishing and hanging out with his friends. Survivors include his father, Samuel Garcia-Ortiz, Sr.; a sister, Ana Alicia Gonzales and her husband, Juan Manuel-Gonzalez; paternal grandmother, Esther Camacho Garcia of Jerecuaro, Gto Mexico; and 4 nephews, Jose Manuel Gonzalez, Angel Gabriel Gonzalez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez and Yan Carlos Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alicia and an infant niece.
