Cristina Rebecca Mac Gregor, 78, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at St. John's Nursing Center in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Jefferson, S.D. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Cristina was born on July 24, 1933, in Luisiana Laguna, Philippines, the daughter of Eugenio and Maria Megino. She married Juan Alcasid in 1949 and to this marriage, four children were born. She then married Edward Mac Gregor in 1968 and to this marriage, one child was born. Cristina lived in the Philippines from 1933 until she moved to California, because her husband, Edward, was an engineer with Litton Guidance and Control. In 1973, she moved to New Jersey and in 1974 moved to Pascagoula. In 2003, she moved to North Sioux City to join the Mac Gregor family. She owned Cristi's Florist in Manila, Philippines, and in Pascagoula, Miss. She was a floral designer for 43 years. She was employed with Wal-Mart for five years as a Floral designer in Sioux City before retiring. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Pascagoula from 1974 to 2003. She had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City since 2003. In her free time, she loved cooking for her grandchildren and spending time with them. She adored her beloved Chihuahua, Tiger Christopher Mac Gregor, who was born on Nov. 24, 1999. She also loved to travel, people and all kinds of flowers. Survivors include three sons, Edward Douglas "Doug" Mac Gregor Jr. and his wife, Kristie of Sioux City, Petronilo "Nilo" Alcasid and his wife, Nena of California, and Ronaldo "Ronnie" Alcasid of the Philippines; a daughter, Maria Virginia Alcasid-Sherven and her husband, Harold "Hal" of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Lilia Alcasid (Jimmy) of the Philippines; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers; two sisters; and a son, James "Jimmy" Alcasid in 1985. In lieu of flowers, Cristina requested donations in her memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City.
