Marie Ann Vander Muelen

Marie Vander Meulen, 50, of Westfield, IA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services for Marie will be on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. There will be a visitation 2 hrs prior to service time at the funeral home. Following the service her body will be cremated and burial of her cremains will take place at a later date. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Marie was married to Mike Vander Meulen on February 14, 2000 in Elk Point, SD. She worked for years for various catholic churches and as a bartender at the Brass Rail in Sioux City. Marie enjoyed shooting pool, camping and riding with her husband on his motorcycle. She is survived by her husband Mike Vander Meulen of Westfield, IA; daughters Heather Altimus of Sioux City; Joanna Vander Meulen of Omaha, NE; son Michael Lee Vander Meulen of Westfield, IA; 2 grandchildren Elijiah Altimus and Noah Gamet; mother Delores Franken of Westfield, IA; father Elroy Altimus of Sioux City; sister Brenda Altimus of Sioux City; mother-in-law Carol (Doyle) Parman of Grant City, MO; sisters-in-laws Teresa (Jim) Sturdevant of MO; and Jayne (Kelly) Knight of Atlantic, IA; 5 nieces, 1 great Niece and many friends and extended family.
