SIOUX CITY | Leo M. Miller, 85 of Sioux City, IA died Monday, May 28, 2012 at a local hospital after a very brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City with Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Anthon, IA with military graveside rites. Visitation with the family present will be 5-8 p.m. Friday with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Leo was born January 8, 1927 in Sioux City the son of Arthur and Stella (Brown) Miller. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during WWII. On August 24, 1957 he married the love of his life, MaryAnn Dicus in Elk Point, SD. His employment included First National Bank for 29 years, Laurence's Super Market and 18 years at the Southern Hills HyVee Food Store. Leo was a devoted husband and family man. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, a passionate Heelan Crusader fan, avid reader and loved eagle collectables. Survivors include, his wife of nearly 55 years, MaryAnn; 6 children, Barbara Ann and husband, Chuck Pastori of Colorado Springs, CO, Suzanne Miller-Kerstner of Santa Maria, CA, LeAnn Miller-Kinney and husband, Matt Kinney of San Diego, CA, Perry Miller and wife, Kathy, Jeana Paulson and husband, Steve and Janet Johnson and husband, Tim all of Sioux City; 20 grandchildren, Jason and Tricia Kinney, Jeff, Dave and Katie Miller, Debbie West, Kim Kendrick, Michele Blackman, David Kithcart, Suzie Kanakanui, Michael Kerstner and Sandy Wiley; Steve Jr, John and Freeman Paulson, Susie Johme and Lisa Dykeman, Jacob, Courtney and Rylee Johnson; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara Knecht and husband Arnold, and Betty Pearson all of Akron, IA. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael in 1994, brothers, Ronald, Clarence and Jack, sisters, Evelyn Green, Lillian Miller, Delores Boston, Margie Marzoline, parents, Arthur and Stella Miller and parents-in-law, Bill and Mary Dicus. Pallbearers will be Jeff, David and Katie Miller, Tricia and Jordan Kinney and Freeman Paulson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Kinney, Steve Paulson, Jr., John Paulson, Jacob Johnson, David Kithcart and Michael Kerstner. The family requests no flowers.
