Amy V. Rocha, 78, of South Sioux City, passed away, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at a local care facility. A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Amy was born March 4, 1934 in Abingdon, England. She met Isadore J. Rocha in England while he was stationed there during his military service. They traveled to America, landing in New York, in 1952 and settled in Sioux City where they made their home. Amy married Isadore on November 29, 1952 in South Sioux City. She worked for Johnson Biscuit for a short time before becoming a homemaker for her seven children. Amy enjoyed gardening, canning, shopping for her grandchildren, sewing, and remodeling her home. She was happy being home with her family and looking after her grandchildren. She traveled back to England in 1999 to visit family. Amy is survived by three sons, Gordon (Iris) Rocha of Sioux City, Jamie (Niki) Rocha of Sioux Center, and Randy Rocha of California; four daughters, Christina (Glen) Delperdang of LeMars, Carol Rocha of Sioux City, Cherie Rocha of Sioux City, and Cindy Rocha and her significant other, Steve of Sioux City; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Cuddles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Isadore; and grandson, Jason.
