Milton H. "Nick" Millard, 66, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at a local hospital following an ongoing illness. Nick's memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Deacon Fred Karpuk officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 21, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. and a Vigil at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Nick was born on August 16, 1945 in Denison, Iowa prior to relocating to Sioux City. He married his high school sweetheart Margaret Ann Suffield on July 13, 1968. They were both honored as homecoming king and queen at Riverside high school. Nick was employed with I.P.S. now Mid American Energy for 42 years in the computer scheduling department before retiring in the spring of 2009. Nick was involved in youth coaching for several years in football and baseball and developed long standing relationships with several area high school athletes. He had a passion for Iowa Hawkeye athletics and enjoyed his fall football Saturday's with his wife Margaret. Nick loved the game of golf and used that as a venue for friendship with what he called his "Boyz" that he golfed and played cards with each Saturday. He took pride in his beautiful marriage with his best friend Margaret and the successes of his children Martin, Michelle and Mark. He was very proud of each of their accomplishments. Most important to Nick was his obligation to his seven grandchildren, Mackenzie, Peyton, Josie, Jackson, Nicholas, Spencer and Ian. He shared a special bond with Mackenzie, Peyton and Josie who he had frequent contact with and beamed with happiness when he spoke or spent time with them. Nick is survived by his wife Margaret of Sioux City; two sons, Martin and Amie Millard of Sioux City and Mark and Dee Dee Millard of Sioux City; one daughter, Michelle and Rob Davis of Omaha, NE; two brothers, Duke and Judy Millard of Dumas, TX and Short and Fred Millard of Augusta, GA; sister-in-laws Barb and Ben "Oris" Glass of Valley, NE and Mel Lundgren and her special friend Patrick Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; and seven grandchildren. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Nick's "Boyz", Ron Jordan, Wes Bowers, Jerry Combs, Larry Locke, Gary and Larry Roan, Tom Elgert, John Fitch, Pat Lyon, and Rob McClary. Nick is now reunited with his parents, Dale and Marcella Millard and his brother Hez Millard. The family expresses their gratitude to Hospice of Siouxland for their special care.
