Katha Dietz

Katha Dietz, 83 of Sioux City, IA passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Chaplain Victoria Karssen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be the hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Katha was born July 4, 1928 in Green City, MO the daughter of Joe and Marie (Dehm) Creason. On July 11, 1955 she married Ray E. Dietz in Dakota City, NE. He died in 1986. Katha worked as a nurses' aide at St. Vincent Hospital and then for various nursing homes in Sioux City for many years. Taking care of her grandkids and great-grandkids gave her much joy. She was also a foster parent to many children. Survivors include 3 sons, Joe Dietz, Jimmy Dietz and Gary Dietz all of Sioux City; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Crosthwait, Travis Anderson, Clete Fuhrer, Ricky Sorenson, Bud Harris and Bob Klundt. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ricky Medina.
