SLOAN, Iowa -- Carl A. Anderson Jr., 49, of Sloan passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. CJ, the son of Carl and Eleanor (Brown) Anderson, was born on January 9, 1963, in Sioux City. He received his schooling at Sioux City schools. CJ lived in Sioux City until moving to Sloan in 2002. He also lived for a short time in Council Bluffs, Iowa. CJ worked for several years at BPI and also as a car detailer during his time in Council Bluffs. He enjoyed fishing, camping, barbecuing, and playing guitar. He was a trophy-winning boxer and enjoyed watching sporting events. CJ is survived by his fiancee, Angie Jones; one daughter, April Connolly; three stepsons, Donald Jones, Billy Jones, and Terry Jones; one brother, Ricky (Judith) Anderson; four sisters, Sherri Curiel, Barb (Dru) Jurrens, Elaine Marshall, and Jenni Anderson; one stepsister, Linda (Jim) Larkin; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
