SIOUX CITY -- Alma J. Webster, 85, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. William J. Vit Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Hall. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Alma was born on July 23, 1926, in Creighton, Neb., to Henry and Martha L. (Blair) Tharnish. She attended school in Chicago, Ill. She was homemaker raising her four children. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting eagles, playing bingo, and playing Mrs. Santa Claus at Santa's House for years. She was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church and the Eagle's Club. Alma is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia Hand and significant other, Bob Cory of Sioux City, Katherine (Richard) Kelly of Salix, Iowa, and Karen Tweedy of Salix; a son, Edward Webster; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Hazuka of Bismarck, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marceline Tharnish.
