LAWTON - Ervin Lee Sencenbaugh, 72, of Lawton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 8, 2012 from complications recovering from heart surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Funeral services for Ervin will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Rev. Bob Schoenherr officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Ervin was born on April 9, 1939 in Sioux City to Harry and Mary Virginia (Ervin) Sencenbaugh. He graduated from East High School in 1957. Ervin was married to Sandy Nelson on October 19, 1957 in Sioux City. To this union 4 children were born, Daniel, Jeffery, Mark, and Marten. The marriage ended in divorce and he was later married to Rhonda Baird on April 24, 1981 in Elk Point, SD. To this union 3 children were born, Scott, Eric and Kayla. Ervin worked in management for area packing houses including John Morel, Floyd Valley, Swifts, Raskins, and Curly's. He loved racing stock cars in his younger days and was a very well known name in the racing community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making his own catfish bait, and riding motorcycles. He also had a passion for gardening, especially raising tomatoes. Above all, his family was everything to him; he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Ervin will be fondly remembered as a kind man who would do anything for anybody, he was always ready to lend a helping hand. Ervin is survived by his wife Rhonda Sencenbaugh of Lawton, IA; 3 children Daniel Sencenbaugh of Holiday, FL; Eric Samuel (Kristi) Sencenbaugh of Sioux City; and Kayla Theann Sencenbaugh of Lawton, IA; 3 grandchildren Liberty Moore and Deshawn Hieb of Sioux City and Donoven of Lawton, IA; a brother David Sencenbaugh of Sioux City; sister Sharon of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles Edward Sencenbaugh, and 4 children Scott Baird, Jeffery Dale Sencenbaugh, Mark Allen Sencenbaugh, and Marten Sencenbaugh.
