SIOUX CITY -- Luella Grace Lowther, 84, of Sioux City, formerly of Moville, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Luella was born on May 15, 1927, in Moville, to James R. and Emma (Morack) Cross. She attended school and graduated from Moville High School. On June 5, 1943, Luella married Raymond "Earl" Lowther in Elk Point, S.D. The couple farmed for many years near Moville, Oto, and Sergeant Bluff. In 1965, she started working for Stockyards Insurance and remained there for about 25 years. Luella was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Oto and Moville. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Swan of Sioux City, and Shirley (Randy) Tucker of Phillipsburg, Mo.; four grandchildren, Tom (Jane) Tucker of Ute, Iowa, Tami (Jeff) Street of Marshfield, Mo., David (significant other Maribel) Swan of Sioux City, and Shane Tucker of Conway, Mo.; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; and four brothers. Pallbearers will be Tom Tucker, Jay Dee Tucker, Buddy Tucker, Cole Tucker, Romaine Hicks, and Jonni Rubios.
