SIOUX CITY -- Patricia A. Taylor, 71, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Sioux City following a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The body was cremated. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Patricia was born on April 15, 1940, in Roseburg, Ore., the daughter of Marsh and Elizabeth (Joyce) Skaggs. She grew up in Portland, Ore., where she graduated from Jefferson High School. She married Gene Taylor on May 16, 1958, in Stevens, Wash. He died on August 16, 2011, in Sioux City. Patricia and Gene came to Sioux City in the late 1950s. She worked for Sioux City Bakery and St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. She worked most of her career in the meat department at the Economy Market, retiring in 2003. Patricia enjoyed gardening, watching old musicals, traveling back to Oregon, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Taylor of Sioux City; three sisters, Janice Finegan of Dayton, Ore., Jean Gage of Portland, Ore., and Sandra Kinsey of Calhoun, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; two sisters; and three brothers.
