JEFFERSON, S.D. -- Angela Benson, 51, of Waukee, Iowa, formerly of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 26, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Civil Bend Cemetery, rural Jefferson. Angela was born on January 17, 1961, in Jefferson, to Hubert and Amelia (Clement) Bertrand. She graduated from Jefferson High School. She attended the University of South Dakota and graduated with her bachelor's degree from Morningside College. She was an executive assistant for Allied Insurance. Angela enjoyed keeping a clean yard and gardening. She also enjoyed attending wine tastings and doing anything that involved red wine. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandson, Evan John, whom she treasured more than anything. She is survived by her two daughters, Hollie Benson and her fiance, Ryan Midtlyng of Waukee, and Katie Benson and her fiance, Steven Buckley of Urbandale, Iowa; a grandson, Evan John Benson of Waukee; her mother, Amelia Bertrand of Jefferson; a sister, Carol Will of Rapid City, S.D.; a niece, Belinda (Dennis) Johnson of McCook Lake, S.D.; and a nephew, Dustin (Jenny) Bertrand of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Paul and Steven Bertrand.
