SIOUX CITY -- Frances M. Tucker, 85, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. Per her wishes, her body will be cremated. Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Paul Speidel officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Frances was born on November 18, 1926, near Winnebago, Neb., to Ernest and Angie (Dean) Jones. She graduated from South Sioux City High School on May 18, 1926. Frances was married to Merlin J. Tucker on September 9, 1945, in South Sioux City. She was a homemaker and raised her three children. Frances enjoyed painting and camping. She was a past president of the Women's Association, chairman of the Priscilla Circle, and co-skipper of the Mariners Club. She was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a deacon and clerk of session. She is survived by her husband, Merlin Tucker of Sioux City; daughter, Jeffrey Dawn (Thomas) Boyle of Sioux City; two sons, Forrest (Penny) Tucker of Brookings S.D., and Maurice "Moe" Tucker of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell (Judy) Jones of Sioux City; and three sisters, Ardith Satterwhite of Craig, Colo., Marilyn Eyer of Moville, Iowa, and Sharon (Francis) Sullivan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl and Ronnie Jones; and a son-in-law, Robert Boyle.
