SIOUX CITY -- E. Lorraine Bullock, 85, of Sioux City passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at a local hospital, surrounded by her family and friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Augustana Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Lorraine Bullock was born on June 17, 1926, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Walter L. and Elsie S. (Anderson) Shearer. She grew up in the Westfield, Iowa, area and graduated from Westfield High School at the of 16, having been advanced two grades. She attended Western Union (Westmar College). She moved to Sioux City and married Raymond Bullock on December 15, 1944. To this union two sons were born. She was employed at State Farm, Sieg Company, and Kennedy Parsons before becoming a full-time homemaker. She later re-entered the work force and was employed by Internal Medicine for 21 years before retiring at the age of 71. Lorraine was a devoted mother and grandmother. She very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed country music, plays, concerts and traveling, having visited all of the continental 48 states. She was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye basketball fan. She collected salt and pepper shakers, strawberry memorabilia and snowmen. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Dennis and Laura Bullock and Darrel and Christi Bullock, all of Sioux City; grandsons, Jonathan, Christopher, Rob and Michael; a sister, Maxine Anderson of Akron, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Ed Nelson; and a brother-in-law, Les Anderson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Augustana Lutheran Church Building Fund.
