SIOUX CITY -- Robert S. DeHoet, 85, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home following a lengthy illness. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Nelson Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Don Craig officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Bob was born April 12, 1926, in Ames, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Gertrude (Phillips) DeHoet. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bob married Marcia Cox on May 27, 1961, in Omaha, Neb. He worked for many years and was the vice president of Blue Cross Blue Shield. In his free time, Bob loved to golf. He was a member of Abu Bekr Shrine Temple, participating in the White Horse Mounted Patrol and the Cycle Corps, and the Sertoma Club. Bob was also a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marcia DeHoet of Sioux City; a daughter, Jean (Laree) Feller of Redfield, Iowa; two grandchildren, Marc Feller and Stacey Feller; three great-grandchildren, Cody, Abby and Madi; a brother-in-law, Keith (Connie) Cox of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Connie Sloan of Ames; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barb DeHoet; a sister and four brothers. Memorials may be sent to the donor's choice in Bob's name.
