SIOUX CITY -- Gayle M. Susie, 66, of Sioux City passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at a local hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Sioux City Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Pointer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Gayle, the daughter of Hillard and Vera (Woolworth) McManigal, was born September 5, 1945, in Omaha. She attended Sioux City Central High School and was a lifelong Siouxland resident. Gayle married Richard Bowman in 1965. The couple later divorced. Gayle married Sam Susie in 1986. Sam died in 2001. Gayle worked for Zenith until the company closed. She then worked for South Sioux City schools for more than 35 years, where she was a bus supervisor and worked in the administration. Gayle loved her dogs, cats, horses and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her time driving the bus for Special Olympics and the fourth-grade field trips every year. She liked planting and caring for summer flowers. Gayle is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Bowman of Omaha, and Lee Ann Bowman of South Sioux City; one sister, Gloria (Eugene) Means of Sioux City; five brothers, Terry (Patti Jo) McManigal of South Sioux City, Tim (Marlene) McManigal of Omaha, Lanny (Stephanie) McManigal of Sioux City, Ted (Sandy) McManigal of Sioux City, and Kim (Janice) McManigal of Decherd, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Tyler Knecht and Hillary Bowman; her first husband, Richard Bowman of South Sioux City; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; and a brother, Jon.
