Betty L. Bernhardt, 85, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Countryside Senior Living Center. Per Betty's wishes her body will be cremated. The family will have a visitation at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service at St. Mark Lutheran Church 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 with Rev. Betty was born on July 15, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI to Foster and Margaret (Hansen) Knight. She graduated from East High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Bob Bernhardt in 1945 in Sioux City. She was a homemaker and a loving mother to her 3 boys. She enjoyed spending time with her family and socializing. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband Bob Bernhardt of Sioux City; 3 sons Terry L. Bernhardt and wife Bonnie of McCook Lake, SD; and twins Brad J. Bernhardt and wife Angela of Sioux City and Brian L. Bernhardt and wife Debbie of Council Bluffs, IA; 4 grandchildren Chad Bernhardt, Paige Scott and husband Tate, Lindsey McGinty and husband Kyle, and Jeffrey Bernhardt; 5 great grandchildren Sydnee, Sierra and Sawyer Scott, Julian Bernhardt and Maia McGinty, and a brother Ronald Knight of La Mirada, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Kendall Knight. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
