Jerome "Jerry" Nicholson

Jerome "Jerry" Nicholson, 64, of Vermillion, South Dakota formerly of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his residence. Jerry's body was cremated and there will be a graveside service at 10:30 Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery with Father Craig Collison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jerry was born on March 9, 1948 in Sioux City to Richard and Apollonia (Beck) Nicholson. He attended Heelan Catholic Schools and graduated from St. Thomas Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota. He went on to graduate from the University of South Dakota with an art degree. Jerry loved painting, artistry and photography which was how he spent his days. Jerry is survived by his sister Mary Kay (Frank) Pilley of Excelsior, MN; brother Tom Nicholson of LeMars, IA; brother Bill (Julie) Nicholson of Memphis, TN; and sister Jean Noonan of Paradise Valley, AZ; 5 nieces and 2 nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in Jerry's name to the University of South Dakota Foundation at PO Box 5555, Vermillion, SD 57069
