SIOUX CITY -- Tyler C. Peters, 21, of Elkhorn, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a brief illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 6 p. m., all at Immacualte Conception Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Tyler was born July 25, 1990, in Sioux City, the son of Craig and Toni (Ludwig) Peters. He grew up in Elk Point, S.D. He attended Elk Point-Jefferson Schools and graduated from East High School in 2009. He worked for CTI Construction in Sioux City, Menard's and then Lozier in Omaha. Tyler brought a smile to everyone who met him. He was always making people laugh. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and baseball. He was a avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Survivors include his mother, Toni Peters and her fiance, John Dolphin of Sioux City; his father, Craig Peters and his wife, Tammy of Elkhorn, Neb.; a sister, Cassandra Van Roekel and her husband, Troy of Elk Point; two brothers, Andrew Peters Ludwig and Eric Peters, both of Sioux City; a stepbrother, Drew Ketterson of Elkhorn; a stepsister, Mylie Ketterson of Elkhorn; a stepsister, Bridget Dolphin of Swathmore, Pa.; a stepbrother, Geoffrey Dolphin of Sioux City; maternal grandmother, Velma Ludwig of Sioux City; paternal grandparents, Roger and Karen Peters of Norfolk, Neb.; stepgrandparents, Roger and Carol O'Gara of Elkhorn; stepgrandmother, Elizabeth Dolphin of Coatesville, Pa.; a niece, Brooke Van Roekel of Elk Point; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dick Ludwig. Pallbearers will be Andrew Ludwig, Eric Peters, Ashton Lindsay, Whitney Lindsay, Kari Ludwig, Colt Ludwig, Kayl Frey, and Bryce Frey. Honorary pallbearers will be Daran Rudnick and Matt Neswick. A memorial has been established in Tyler's name.
