SIOUX CITY -- Dennis K. Unger, 71, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at a local care facility. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Dennis, the son of Amos and Vivian (Nelson) Unger, was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Cherokee, Iowa. He graduated from Cherokee High School. Dennis married Cyndi Montagne in 1971. They later divorced. Dennis owned and operated Unger's Specialty Welding for more than 40 years. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and bowling. He was an avid reader with a special interest in history. Dennis was a friend to many people and a very generous man. Dennis is survived by two daughters, Kerri (Kipp) Gibson and Nicolle (Scott) Mace, both of Sioux City; two brothers, David Ward of Cherokee and Jerry Unger of Minneapolis; and three grandchildren, Alexes, Hayley and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson Douglas.
