SIOUX CITY -- F. Delores Macklem, 82, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Sunrise Retirement Community. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Garald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Delores was born February 1, 1929, in Sioux City, to Wilbur "Biggs" and Cora (Vance) Wehde. She graduated from Central High School in 1947. She was married to Adrian "Slip" B. Macklem on July 3, 1948, in Sioux City. She was a day-care aide for several years at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, retiring in April 1990. She enjoyed working with the elderly at congregate food sites. She was a very caring and giving person and took great pride in helping others. Freda is survived by a daughter, Adrian Wisner of Sioux City; a son, Dennis B. Macklem of Sioux City; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnne Wengert of Des Moines; and a brother, Jerry (Louise) Wehde of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law.
