Donna F. Johnson

SIOUX CITY -- Donna F. Johnson, 74, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Touchstone Living Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Private family graveside services will be in Quimby Cemetery, Quimby, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Donna was born January 23, 1937, to Ivan and Helen (Chase) Edwards. She graduated from Quimby High School. She worked as a secretary at the Farm Bureau for 30 plus years and part-time at MCI for several years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and shopping. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Survivors include eight children, Rod (Ruth) Johnson of Wausa, Neb., Ronnie (Melanie) Johnson of Clarksville, Tenn., Bert (Terry) Slota of Kingsley, Iowa, Ronda (Garry) Bottjen of Kingsley, Randall (Emmy) Johnson of Spring, Texas, Scott Johnson of Aurelia, Iowa, Shelle (Doug) Brownmiller of Marcus, Iowa, and Gina (Dean) Loutsch of Remsen, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, Delores Brown of Oto, Iowa, Butch Edwards of Primghar, Iowa, Pat (Gina) Edwards of Holstein, Iowa, Lorna (Bernie) Bennett of Paullina, Iowa, Carol (Bryan) Peterson of Quimby, Sally Joines and special friend, Merlin of Cherokee, Iowa, Debbie Stevens of Paullina, and Darrell (Maria) Edwards of Quimby. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert John; a granddaughter, Amber Brownmiller; and a brother, Mike Edwards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or Faith Lutheran Church.
