ONAWA, Iowa -- Luella Marie Harmon, 78, of Onawa died Friday, December 23, 2011, at a Sioux City nursing home. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City, with Karl Luther officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Luella was born May 29, 1933, in Sioux City, the daughter of Herbert and Olive (Bolton) Preston. She married Durilla "Lolly" Harmon on November 15, 1949, in Dakota City. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1995. She was employed with IBP for several years. She was a member of the South Sioux City Eagles Club. In her free time, Luella loved to fish, listen to country music, do latch hook rugs, but most of all, spend time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Survivors include two sons, Billy Harmon of Onawa, and Randy Harmon of Sioux City; two daughters, Sandy Boelhower of Harrisburg, S.D., and Linda Harmon of Sioux City; a brother, Lyle Preston and his wife, Jeri; a sister, Lillian Haakinson of Michigan; four grandchildren, Shawn, Heather, Chad and his wife, Brianna, and Hope and her husband, Robert; four great-grandchildren, Faith, Alexis, Christian and Oliver; several nieces and nephews; and her special companion, Duke, the dog. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Alvin, Albert and Marvin; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy.
