SIOUX CITY -- Greg Blake Axelsen, 63, of Lees Summit, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died December 21, 2011, at Lees Summit Medical Center. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2011 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Private graveside services will be held in Union Cemetery at Wakonda, S.D. Greg was born September 20, 1948, in Yankton, S.D., to Sam and JoAnn (Gilkyson) Axelsen. He attended the University of Nebraska, University of Iowa and graduated from Morningside College. He married Bonnie Gores on December 15, 1973 in Sioux Falls. Mr. Axelsen owned and operated AC Computers in Sioux City. Greg was well known as a good story teller and a wonderful listener. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Axelsen of Lees Summit; one son, Mike Axelsen and his fiancee Vanessa of Iowa City, Iowa; two daughters, Christy and her husband Josh Hustad of Lees Summit, and Sara Axelsen of Overland Park, Kan.; two granddaughters, Jaycee and Ava Hustad; one sister, Cindy Carnes and her husband Don of Sioux City; many nieces and nephews; and his great buddy, Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
