Sadie Taxer

SIOUX CITY -- Sadie Taxer, 94, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Northpark Senior Living Center. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 in Independent Farane Cemetery, with Rabbi Guy Greene officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Sadie was born July 13, 1917, in Sioux City, the daughter of Max and Rose (White) Taxer. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School and was the class valedictorian. She then attended the University of Iowa and graduated with honors. Sadie had worked for KSCJ Radio, the Sioux City Air Base, the Sioux City Public Museum and the Art Center. She also had taught school in South Sioux City. Sadie enjoyed writing poetry and painting. She is survived by nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sister, George, Isadore, Sophie and Milton.
