Robert Mark Reed

HORNICK, Iowa -- Robert Mark Reed, 58, of Hornick passed away Nov. 22, 2011, in Sioux City. A memorial dedication will take place at a later date. His body was cremated at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Mark was born in Burwell, Neb., and raised in Atkinson, Neb. He was an innovative problem solver and hard worker for Sheryn and Tom Green of Hornick, Iowa. He worked on their farm and used his skills in welding, irrigation systems, and harvesting during the farming season. During the last few years, with the helpful compassion of the Green family, Mark had reached peace and balance in his life. He had a love for reading and spent time alone, deep in thought and contemplation. Mark made certain to return any kindness or help that was provided to him, which was provided in abundance by his close friends. A special thanks to all of his friends, who accepted his unique personality and sometimes infrequent communications. You all meant a great deal to him and provided a positive influence in his life. He is survived by a son, Joe Reed of Rochester, Minn.; and three siblings, Zane Reed, Kathy Gotschall, and Beth Troshynski. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H and Irene Reed.
