Alice Lucille Hageman, 83, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Westwood Nursing & Rehab Center, after a six-month illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Alice was born on June 13, 1928 in Correctionville, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Lalia (Perkins) Downey. Alice was united in marriage to Ronald Fitchner on Feb. 17, 1945 in Sioux City. They were blessed with six children, Judy, Peg, Jim, Penny, Paula and Rhonda. Ronald passed away on Dec. 12, 1986 in Sioux City, after 41 years of marriage. She was united in marriage to Philip W. Hageman on Nov. 14, 1993 in Sioux City. Alice worked at Perkins Cafe in Correctionville for several years and then at K-Mart for 10 years, retiring in 1988. Alice was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing, traveling, camping and spending time with her family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Philip of Sioux City; her daughters, Peg (Jack) Hansen, Penny (Keith) Hansen and Paula Fitchner; her son, Jim (Jo) Fitchner; her son-in-law, Ron Rieckmann; her stepchildren, Dick (Ellen) Hageman of Phoenix, Ariz., Dennis (Barb) Hageman of Sioux City, Diane (Barry) Hueschen of Akron, Iowa, Deette (Earl) Larson of Kingsley, Iowa, Denise (Terry) Heien of Indianapolis, Ind., Debbie (Darwin) Blanford of Sioux City, and Dawn (John) Swick of Dakota City; her sister, Georgia; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ronald Fitchner; her daughters, Judy Rieckmann and Rhonda Alice Fitchner; and her brother, Raymond Downey. Pallbearers will be Jack Hansen, Shaun Hansen, Dave Klingensmith, Barry Hueschen, Darwin Blanford and John Swick. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
