Dawn Denise Wendt

SIOUX CITY -- Dawn D. Wendt, 41, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at her home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Chad Brown officiating. Visitation with the family will be the hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Dawn was born Aug, 17, 1970, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ronald and Carole (Provost) Wendt. She obtained her BA degree from the school of Hard Knocks. Dawn was a full-time loving mother who enjoyed music, dancing and her children. Survivors include a daughter, Ronee Pickens and her husband, Adam; a son, Aubrey Johnson; a daughter, Aubrina "Breezy" Johnson, all of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Alexander Brown and Kyla Pickens; her mother, Carole Wickey of Sioux City; her father, Ron Wendt Sr. of Sioux City; four siblings, Michelle Beerman of Sioux City, Sherry Schmitt and her husband, Tim of Sioux City, Ronald Wendt Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Fremont, Neb., and Shannon Bryant of Sioux City She was preceded in death by her soul mate, David Hammond; and her brother, Shawn Wendt.
