Mary Lou Bock, 83 of Sioux City, IA passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at a local hospital after brief illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at Morningside Assembly of God with Pastor Lee Crum officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hinton, IA following a luncheon. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday with the family present 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com . Mary Lou was born Nov. 3, 1928 in Delmont, SD the daughter of Harry and Anna (W ieland) Starr. She grew up in George, IA and graduated from George High School. On May 5, 1958 she married Louis B. Bock in Le Mars, IA. Together they had 5 children. She was a dedicated homemaker and also worked as a waitress for many years. Louis died July 13, 1995 in Sioux City. Mary Lou was an avid card player, especially when it came to playing Shanghai. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Rustin Ave. United Methodist Church. Survivors include her 5 children and their families. Daughter, Mary Cathleen and her husband Joe Marier of Grand Prairie, TX. Daughter, Annette and her husband Larry Gerch of Sioux City, IA and their family, Kelsey and her daughter Addalyn, Angela, and Drew. Son, Louis Jr. and his wife Susan Bock of Moville, IA and their family, Michelle and her husband, Robert Bell. Louis Scott and his wife, Angela and their children Lillian and Grace. Jarod and his wife, Rebecca and their son Ezra. Son, Kevin Sr. and his wife Sandra Bock of James, IA and their sons Klint and his significant other, Jennifer, and his daughter Kennedy. Kevin Jr. his significant other, Ashley and their family, Cayden and Kevin III (Chip). Daughter, Denise and her husband Scott Fillmore of Copperas Cove, TX and their Daughters Mariah and Jonell and her husband Adam Wittkop and their family Taylor, Averie and Ellison Lou. 1 brother and his wife, George and Norma Starr of Sioux City, IA; 2 sisters, Marilyn Weinheimer of Cumming, IA and Carolee Cuperius and her husband, Pete of George, IA; 2 sisters-in-law, Janice Starr of George, IA and Mardell Starr of Milford, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law, Ron Lowery and 7 siblings, Shirley, Helen, Keith, James, Phyllis, Richard and Frank. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
