SIOUX CITY -- Roxanna Marie "Roxie" Wilderman, 49, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Courage Homes after a brief illness. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Chaplain Mark Westrich officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 1 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Roxanna was born Dec. 2, 1961, in Omaha, the daughter of Edward and Virginia (Bamford) Wilderman. She had been a resident of Courage Homes since 1985. Roxie loved the outdoors, swinging and going for long walks. She also enjoyed music and slap-stick comedy. Besides her great sense of humor, she was extremely warm-hearted, friendly, loving, sensitive and kind. She will be missed by many. Survivors include her mother, Virginia Orr of Blair, Neb.; four sisters and a brother, Rebecca Wilderman of Fremont, Neb., Theresa Chase of Palmetto, Fla., Lisa Shelby of Sioux City, Edward Wilderman of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Stephanie Wilderman of Casper, Wyo.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Siouxland or Courage Homes/Mid-Step Services. Roxie's family extends a sincere thank you to the residents and staff at Courage Homes for being Roxie's second family. Also, to Hospice of Siouxland for their remarkable care.
