SIOUX CITY -- Roxanna Marie "Roxie" Wilderman, 49, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Courage Homes after a brief illness. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Chaplain Mark Westrich officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 1 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the prayer service today. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Roxanna was born Dec. 2, 1961, in Omaha, the daughter of Edward and Virginia (Bamford) Wilderman. She had been a resident of Courage Homes since 1985. Roxie loved the outdoors, swinging and going for long walks. She also enjoyed music and slap-stick comedy. Besides her great sense of humor, she was extremely warm-hearted, friendly, loving, sensitive and kind. She will be missed by many. Survivors include her mother, Virginia Orr of Blair, Neb.; four sisters and a brother, Rebecca Wilderman of Fremont, Neb., Theresa Chase of Palmetto, Fla., Lisa Shelby of Sioux City, Edward Wilderman of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Stephanie Wilderman of Casper, Wyo.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Siouxland or Courage Homes/Mid-Step Services. Roxie's family extends a sincere thank you to the residents and staff at Courage Homes for being Roxie's second family. Also, to Hospice of Siouxland for their remarkable care.
