ELK POINT, S.D. -- Dolores M. Jolin, 82, of Elk Point passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Prairie Estates following a brief illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk Point, with the Rev. David Roehrich officiating. Burial will be in Elk Point Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Dolores was born March 2, 1929, in Sioux City, the daughter of Alcide and Myra (Chaussee) Boucher. She attended schools in Jefferson, S.D., and Sioux City. She was a lifelong resident of the area, and had lived in Elk Point since 1947. She married Kenneth E. Jolin on Aug. 23, 1947, in Sioux City. Kenneth passed away on Nov. 17, 1979, in Elk Point. Delores was a devoted mother, homemaker, and farm wife. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and crossword puzzles. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would positively glow at the sight of them, and enjoyed their visits and stories, and was known to many as Grandma Dee. Survivors include her two sons, Dwain and wife, Kathy Jolin of Sapulpa, Okla., and Wesley and wife, Becky Jolin of Elk Point; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward and wife, Colleen Boucher of Estherville, Iowa, and Richard and wife, Vicky Boucher of Marshalltown, Iowa; one sister, Juanita and her husband, Lee Vollmer of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Voncile Petersen. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Robert Jolin, William Jolin, Daniel Jolin, and Keith Jolin.
