MERRILL, Iowa -- Nicholene M. Muecke, 77, of Merrill passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton, Iowa, with the Rev. Steven Stoll officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Nicholene, the daughter of John and Thelma (Titus) Homer, was born March 2, 1934, in Elk Point, S.D. She attended Central High School in Sioux City. Nicholene was married to Clarence Muecke on March 2, 1951, in Hinton. She worked for several years at Aalfs Manufacturing, Mary Lester Fabrics, MCI and Wal-Mart. Her greatest job was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Nicholene enjoyed knitting, crocheting and other crafts. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton. She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Esther) Muecke of Sioux City, and Michael (Bonnie) Muecke of Merrill; a daughter, Theresa (Dean) Carley of Pierson, Iowa; a brother, John (Delores) Homer of Ames, Iowa; two sisters, Julie Martin and Linda Hildenbrand, both of Sioux City; a son-in-law, Tracy Bridgeman; nine grandchildren, Adam, Jacob, Andrew, Rebecca, Nathan, Alissa, Angel, J.R., and Brandon; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Barbara; a brother, Albert; a son-in-law, Bill; and a granddaughter, Melissa.
