LAWTON, Iowa -- Cory G. Loreth, 38, of Lawton died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Cory was born May 12, 1973, in Sioux City, the son of Gene and Barbara (Limoges) Loreth. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Immaculate Conception Grade School. He graduated from Heelan High School in 1991. He married Heather Wright on May 26, 2001, in Sioux City. Cory worked for Hy-Vee until 2003. He then began his dream job at Scheel's All Sports, where he was currently employed as an assistant store manager. Cory enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his wife and children. His wife and family were blessed to have him as part of their lives. His children were his greatest accomplishments. He delighted in every new discovery they made and encouraged them to explore and embrace life as a good daddy would. He was an avid Yankees fan and closely followed the Bemidji State Beavers football team. He was an organ and tissue donor. Survivors include his wife, Heather of Lawton; a son, Hunter Cayden, and daughter, Campbell Jeananne, both at home; his parents, Gene and Barbara Loreth of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Chad and Lisa Loreth of Milford, Iowa, and Kyle and Alison Loreth of Sioux City; his father and mother-in-law, Wray J. and Rachel Wright of Sioux City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wray R. and Bobbi Jo Wright, Sheriffa and Darrin Jones, Heath and Amanda Wright, Shannon Wright, Sheena and Malcolm Cortner, Nolan Wright, Alexis Wright, and Buckley Wright; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lila Loreth; maternal grandparents, Bernard and Dorothy Limoges; grandparents-in-law, Reitzell and Norine Wright, and Carol Heitritter; an uncle-in-law, Reitzell J. Wright; and a good friend, Jody Higgenbotham. Pallbearers will be Chad and Kyle Loreth, Wray R., Heath, Nolan, and Buckley Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Erik Molstad, Ryan Puttman, Malcolm Cortner, Darrin Jones and all of his Scheel's co-workers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family.
