Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 7 p.m., and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Jodene was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Elsie Hass. She grew up and attended Doon Schools and St. Joseph School of Nursing. She received her bachelor's degree at Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, and her master's degree at U.S.D. in Vermillion, S.D. Jodene's favorite things were watching her Red Sox and Iowa Hawkeyes, bowling (where she was the City Single Champ), camping, fishing (she always looked forward to their annual trip to Park Rapids, Minn.) and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Chuck; son, Jon of Sioux City; sister, Lila (Cornie) Brower; brother, Buzz (Marilyn) Hass; nephews, Jeff (Mary) Brower, James (Janine) Hass; nieces, Jerlynn (Wally) Walker, Jan (Bruce) Vogel and Joni (Jay) Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elsie Hass. Pallbearers will be Tom Macfarlane, Jeff Brower, John Hemmingstad, Bruce Vogel, James Hass and Buzz Hass.
