Frederic T. Bocian, 93, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at a Sioux City Hospital. Funeral services for Frederic will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Dan Guenther officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. with family present and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Frederic was born on July 15, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward and Mary (Wildo) Bocian. He graduated from East High School. He served his country in the US Army during World War II serving in the Pacific. He was married to Rose Mary Pope on July 7, 1940 in Sioux City. Frederic worked for Swift & Co. for 15 years starting in the Hide Cellar and working up to Supervisor. He later worked for the USDA as a Meat Inspector for 32 years retiring in July of 1983. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a 50 year member of the American Legion. Frederic enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He is survived by his wife Rose Mary Bocian of Sioux City ; 2 sons Fredrick Bocian of Sioux City; and Paul Bocian of Sioux City; one grandson Michael and 3 great grandchildren Sage, Hanna, and Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers Mickey, Leo, Adam, and Gene and a sister Mary.
