SIOUX CITY -- Kay F. Scofield, 65, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at a Sioux City care facility. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Glendale Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Kay was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Sioux City, the daughter of Anton and Myrtle (Murphy) Pueppke. She received her education at Sioux City schools and attended Heelan High School. Kay married Doug Scofield Dec. 15, 1962, in Pipestone, Minn. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. She worked for Best Western Hotels for 13 years, retiring in 2009. She also worked for Crosstown and Pepsi Cola Co. in the past. Kay was a member of Glendale Baptist Church, where she helped bake for various church activities. She enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, and riding motorcycles with Doug. Survivors include her husband, Doug of Sioux City; a son, Mickey Scofield of Sioux City; three daughters; Roxann Scofield (significant other Jim McGennis) of Hinton, Iowa, Rhonda (Mark) Williams of Le Mars, Iowa, and Robin (Kelly) Swick of Washta, Iowa; a sister, Patricia Toben of Akron, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John "Jack;" a son, Leo; and two great-grandchildren, Dedrick and Caden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
