Eva B. Rasmussen

Eva B. Rasmussen, 94, of Jackson, NE passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at a Sioux City Hospital. There will be a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jackson, NE with Father Paul Albensius officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at the church in Jackson. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Eva was born on November 15, 1916 in Ponca, NE to Peter and Bertha (Fricken) Goergen. She was united in marriage to R. Walter Rasmussen in 1934 in Jackson, NE. He preceded her in death in 1987 in Sioux City. Eva took great pride in being a homemaker. She loved to crochet afghans for her family and friends. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and she never missed a bingo event. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jackson, NE. She is survived by her 3 sons Carl (Maxine) Rasmussen; Marvin Rasmussen both of Jackson, NE; and Charles (Doris) Rasmussen of Verdigre, NE; 2 daughters Annette (Manford) Peters of Ainsworth, NE and Frances Hilton of South Sioux City, NE; 32 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons; and a sister-in-law Loretta Goergen of South Sioux City, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, 2 grandsons Steven and Corey Rasmussen; a granddaughter Deann Rasmussen; great grandson Zachary Koeppe, and a son-in-law Gary Hilton.
