Barbara J. Dokken, 76, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Touchstone Living Center. Funeral services for Barbara will be on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Merill Muller officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Barbara was born on July 23, 1935 in Sioux City to Freeman L. "Bud" and Beth (Bush) Cobb. She attended Sioux City Schools. She was married to Darrell F. Dokken on May 5, 1951 in Elk Point, SD. She worked as a House Keeper for the Holiday Inn. Barbara was an avid gambler and loved to play bingo, she also enjoyed family gatherings and listening to music. She is survived by her husband Darrell Dokken of Sioux City; 5 children Randy (Vicki) Dokken of Sioux City; Kathy (Bob) Charlson of Sioux City; Cheryl Schonrock of Sioux City; Russ (Jane) Dokken of Cincinnati, OH; and Susan (Mike) Deming of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; 4 brothers Jim Cobb and (Special Friend Carol) of Sioux City; Don (Barb) Cobb of Sioux City; Dick (Jackie) Cobb of Sioux Falls, SD; and Larry Cobb of Glenwood, IA; 5 sisters Patty (Neil) Cleveland; Judy Keleher; Beverly (Larry) Hansen; Penny (Leroy) Hedemark; and Nancy (Elroy) Altmus all of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters Carol Hartnett; Betty Jensen; and Connie McMullen.
