June 24, 1957 — August 1, 2011

SIOUX CITY -- Emmett Lee Saul, 54, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Paul's Episcopal Indian Mission in Sioux City. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin today and will continue until service time Friday at the Indian Mission. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Emmett was born June 24, 1957, in Sioux City, the son of Emerson and Mary (Chapman) Saul. Emmett attended Briar Cliff University and Western Iowa Tech Community College. He worked at Turpak for a number of years before retiring due to illness. Emmett married Irene "Peppie" Free on Nov. 14, 2004, in Sioux City. He enjoyed playing pool, darts and in his younger years, he enjoyed basketball. He also had a love to old-time cars and music. He is survived by his wife, Irene "Peppie"; his children, Douglas, Stephanie, Angela, and Sharon; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Sam Saul; and three sisters, Alice, Liz and Vanessa. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon in 2002; a grandson, Joseph; his parents; five brothers, Roger, Stanley, Gary, Emery, and John; and two sisters, Patty and Janet.
