James "Jim" L. Truhe, 51 of Jefferson, SD died suddenly, Sunday, July 17, 2011 at a hospital in Wagner, SD after relaxing and fishing with his family and friends. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson with Rev. David Roehrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present 5-8 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. all at the church. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements. Jim was born Feb. 12, 1960 in Sioux City, IA the son of Julius "Duke" and Martha (Hughes) Truhe. He attended St. Peter's Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson High School. He attended college in Springfield, SD and studied carpentry. Jim owned and operated JLT Custom Contracting and JLT Tree Removal Service. On April 17, 1993 he married Ann M. Bosse at St. Peter's Church in Jefferson. Jim was a longtime volunteer firefighter and EMT. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Jim enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends, golfing and hunting. He especially enjoyed watching his daughter play sports and vacationing with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Ann Truhe; a son, Justin Truhe of Sioux City; a daughter, Audrey Truhe at home; his mother, Martha Truhe of Jefferson, SD; 5 siblings, Jean Truhe of Orlando, FL, Joe Truhe and his wife, Deb of Jefferson, Pat Christiansen and her husband, Mike of Sioux City, IA; Tom Truhe of Palm Springs, CA and Don Truhe and his wife, Brenda of Jefferson, SD; many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles and his parents-in-law, Martin and Virgene Bosse and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers will be Mike Hanson, Brad Kjose, Tom Connors, Joe Bosse, Gregg Bosse and Jeff Versteeg. Memorials may be made in Jim's name to St. Peter's Church Building Fund or to the Jefferson Fire Department.
