Ruth M. Lambert, 83, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Touchstone Living Center. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Ruth was born on April 28, 1928 in Sioux City to Francis "Frank" W. and Ruth Pridie) Shay. She was married to Dean Lambert on June 10, 1950 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Leeds. Ruth devoted her life to her family and took immense pride in motherhood, caring and nurturing her own children as well as anyone who needed a motherly influence. She worked in the family construction business for many years as the bookkeeper and secretary. She enjoyed cooking family dinners and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth was also very devoted to her faith, helping with church dinners, cleaning and lending a hand in the parish when needed. She is survived by her husband Dean Lambert of Sioux City, and four children, James Lambert and wife Jacque of Jackson, NE; Jacqueline McCormac and husband Robert of Conifer, CO; Jerome Lambert and wife Angela of Sergeant Bluff; and Jeffery Lambert and wife Judeka of Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters Mary Drevs of Moville; and Anna Parks of Andover, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Joseph and John Lambert, and 3 brothers Jim, Pat and John Shay. Grandsons Jackson Lambert, Jake Lambert, Bob McCormac, Joshua Lambert and London Lambert will be pallbearers.
