Florence B. Epstein

Private graveside services were held in Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill. Arrangements were under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Florence was born June 9, 1914, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Sam and Tillie (Cooperman) Kauffman. She graduated from Pharmacy College and worked for a short time as a pharmacist. Florence married Seymour Stein and to that union a son, David, was born. After Seymour died, she married Frank Epstein in December 1976. The couple made their home in Sioux City in 1977. Frank died in December 2006. She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Sharlene Stein of Albuquerque, N.M.; and three grandchildren, Brian Landan of Washington, D.C., Samantha Stein of Los Angeles, Calif., and Leah Stein of Pasadena, Calif. She was preceded in death by her son, David Stein; both husbands and her parents. Memorials may be directed to Congregation Beth Shalom.
